The Grain Store Goes Feral

Grain Store is proud to be teaming up with the Feral Brewing Company to bring Newcastle the Grain Store Goes Feral event on Wednesday June 12th 2013! After their recent opening the Grain Store is upping the anti, and is inviting you to come share a beer with multi award winning craft beer brewer and founder of Feral Brewing Company, Brendan Varis.

The Feral Brewing company located in the Swan Valley WA, were awarded the Grand Champion Australian Brewery at the 2012 AIBA, with Hop Hog one of their signature beers holding the coveted number one position, for the second year running in the Critics’ Choice Book.

The event kicks off at 6:30pm and will be $55 per person, for this the Grain Store are offering pork served FIVE ways including spit roast, along side FIVE beer offerings by the Feral Brewing Company.

This is one Grain Store event not to be missed! Judging by surging popularity since opening, make a booking and enjoy the night of craft beer and pork at it’s best!

Grain Store Hosts – Ride For Motor Neuron Disease

Grain Store is proud to be hosting the Ride for Motor Neurone Disease this Wednesday May 15th 2013!

The event is in support of Ian Davis and Scott Sullivan, who joined forces to ride ONE MILLION meters (1000km) in May to raise awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) / Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Both Ian and Scott have MND however this does not stop them! Riding specially modified bikes on this long haul, they speed into Newcastle Wednesday.

We invite you to come and join us at the Grain Store in celebration of the tremendous efforts of Ian and Scott and help raise awareness and much needed funds for MND. Grain Store Employment!

Exciting positions available with the new Grain Store in Newcastle East. Calling for a qualified chef, experienced cook, a first and second year apprentice chef as well as waitresses, baristas and bar staff!

A simple, quirky casual menu is to be developed possessing a high level of presentation, experience with pizza dough and ability to manage COGS is essential for these positions.

The successful applicant for the Head Chef roll will possess responsibilities including:

Managing kitchen staff
Menu Planning
Ensuring consistency and quality is maintained

Bar and wait staff should be outgoing and enthusiastic, with prior hospitality experience being an advantage. Duties inclusive of but not limited to:

Food and beverage service
Craft Beer service and product knowledge
Basic Barista knowledge
Order taking
General Cleaning
Cash handling
Customer meet and greet

Operating hours will initially be 6 days per week serving an all day menu from lunch onward, with potential for extended hours into weekend breakfasts. A passion for great food and service is a must!
